This morning, a new interview has been released with Santiago Gimenez, in which he spoke during an event in Mexico.

It has been a difficult summer already for Gimenez. Again, he is the subject of rumours of a transfer after an underwhelming World Cup and finding suitors could prove to be difficult. However, he is no longer the ‘big money’ striker.
Indeed, there is no real need to play him. The starting role will go to Goncalo Ramos and then Andrej Kostic and Francesco Camarda are fighting to be his back-up this season. For Gimenez, then, there is little to no space.
So, a sale seems logical for all parties, but there is no major interest from anyone just yet. Things can – and hopefully will – change quickly in the mercato, but right now, it seems like it’ll be a challenge to part ways.
Gimenez speaks about his journey
Gimenez spoke during the ‘Bvlgari Talk’ event in Mexico City, offering a few words about the Rossoneri and his national team, as MilanVibes relays.
“I remember that when I made my Serie A debut, my father gave me a watch. It was a Bvlgari. Beyond that, my father taught me that watches represent moments.
“So, if you see a watch on my wrist, it could be for my debut, because I became a champion, because I realised my dream of joining AC Milan, because I got married, or, perhaps in the future, for the birth of my son.”
Things aren’t always easy…
“Sometimes we want things to happen quickly, but that doesn’t work. At least from what I’ve experienced in football, things don’t work that way. Even if you score a goal, for example, but you’re playing poorly, that goal won’t mean much to you in the long run.
“On the other hand, if you’re going through a period where you’re not scoring, but you’re consistent and you put in the hard work every day, the reward will come.”
