Everything unravelled for Milan in the 20th minute of the 3-1 loss to the Giallorossi, when Gimenez swung an elbow into the chest of Mancini after being wrestled to the ground inside the box. The referee was called over to the monitor and the striker was rightly shown a straight red card.

Conceicao was clearly frustrated with the way the officiating went as he was sent off in the closing stages too. However, it emerged after the game that he was more angry at a red not being shown for an almost identical incident in the Coppa Italia final.

Gimenez and Conceicao: Ban and fine

As MilanNews confirm, the Sporting Judge has issued the verdict regarding the duo. Gimenez will serve a one-match suspension and has been fined €15,000 after the incident of violent conduct. It is good news, given a multi-game ban would have led to him missing the start of 2025-26.

Conceicao was guilty ‘for having, in the 47th minute of the second half, blatantly contested a referee’s decision, reiterating this attitude when the expulsion order was given’. He has been fined €5000 and will serve a one-game ban too.
