GiveMeSport: Milan show rejuvenated interest in USA international

AC Milan nearly signed Antonee Robinson from Wigan Athletic, and a report has claimed that they have retained an interest in the defender since he has been at Fulham.

According to what is being reported by GiveMeSport, there are a number of teams interested in signing Robinson ahead of the summer transfer window given how impressive he has been since joining Fulham.

The report starts by claiming that Chelsea are ‘serious’ about signing the 26-year-old, who has played 94% of available Premier League minutes throughout this season so far under Marco Silva, in turn keeping Milan loanee Fode Ballo-Toure out of the side.

Chelsea want to sign a left-back to provide cover for Ben Chilwell, who continues to miss big stretches due to injuries. The Blues have been scouting Robinson ‘for the past year’ and like what they see from the USA international.

Fulham are not under any pressure to sell and do not want Robinson to leave, which is why Chelsea know it might take £35m (€40m) to tempt them once the transfer window reopens.

Other clubs are interested too, such as Liverpool and Manchester City. Meanwhile, the source add that Milan have also shown reignited interest in Robinson, who was set to join in January 2020 before a heart problem was discovered which scupper the move.

Given the insistent rumours about Theo Hernandez potentially being the subject of a big-money bid from Bayern Munich in the coming months, it might well be that Geoffrey Moncada is looking into potential replacements.
