CM: A goal that could be a spark – options for Adli’s future from Milan’s will to loan idea

Yacine Adli has had a difficult start to life as a fully-fledged AC Milan player and was in need of a spark to get going again, one that might have come yesterday.

Calciomercato.com recall how Adli had encouraging preseason after joining up with the first team following his loan at Bordeaux last season, but then disappeared when competitive action began, starting only one game thus far in Serie A away against Hellas Verona.

Stefano Pioli has not entrusted him much but while there are still players on international duty or recovering from injury, Adli was able to show off against Lumezzane in yesterday’s friendly, scoring an equaliser in the 50th minute in which he beat three opponents and fired past the keeper.

He looked like the same playmaker that enchanted in the summer with a style and flow all of his own, but of course the difference is that the game had no real meaning and the rhythms were low, conditions in which Adli seems to shine for now.

He has only made 4 appearances for a total of 114 minutes, but what leaks from Casa Milan is confidence in the Frenchman’s abilities. However, in view of the January window, if the player asks to play more then he could be satisfied with a loan spell.

The Rossoneri would prefer him to stay at Milanello where he could grow by training with his team-mates, and if a loan were to become the chosen solution then Maldini and Massara would prefer to snub the admirers in France and keep him in Serie A where Cremonese, Torino and Sampdoria like him above all.
