Tuttosport: Danish teenager impresses with a goal as Maldini watches on

AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini was at the game between Atalanta and Spezia yesterday to watch a young striker in action, a report claims.

According to Tuttosport, Maldini was present at the Gewiss Arena for the Coppa Italia last 16 clash between Atalanta and Spezia to watch his son who is on loan with the Ligurian club, but he also wanted to watch Jakub Kiwior of Spezia and his direct opponent Rasmus Hojlund.

However, Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano are both reporting that Kiwior is now very close to saying goodbye to Serie A and joining the current Premier League leaders Arsenal in a deal that will be worth €25m plus bonuses.

Milan need to invest in a new centre-forward in the next couple of windows with Olivier Giroud aged 36, Zlatan Ibrahimovic aged 41 and Divock Origi who has struggled with injury problems, and it seems Hojlund could be a fit for the youth project.

The young Dane arrived from Sturm Graz in the summer and has five goals in 15 competitive games for La Dea since joining, which is beginning to turn some heads given he is 19 years of age. He also scored in Atalanta’s 5-2 win, which will have no doubt impressed Maldini.
