It was already common knowledge that the love story between Icardi and Galatasaray was headed for the end credits. Now – via their social media profiles and website – the Turkish club have made official the separation and the termination of their contractual agreement with their former captain.

They shared a touching farewell video message for Icardi, who thus becomes without a club. As a result, there is a chance he could become a golden opportunity for Serie A sides too, a destination he would love.

Offered to Milan

Calciomercato.com report that Icardi has been eyeing Italian clubs looking for a striker for some time now, given his desire to return. However, due to his very lucrative contract with Galatasaray, no one has made any concrete contact with his entourage.

On a free transfer, he’s become a unique opportunity that could be tempting to many top clubs, such as Juventus (where he would reunite with Luciano Spalletti), Como (who could make him a Champions League player and bring him closer to Milano, where he still has interests), or even Roma.

Finally, he was also previously offered to AC Milan. The Rossoneri have already closed the signing of Goncalo Ramos for a big-money fee, but Santiago Gimenez faces an uncertain future and thus a new deputy striker may be sought, especially if on a free.
