AC Milan will be backed by a bumper crowd at San Siro tonight with over 70,000 fans expected for the game against Salernitana, a report clams.

This morning’s edition of La Repubblica (via MilanNews) writes that the Milan fans are continuing to show incredible attachment to Stefano Pioli’s side and tonight against Salernitana for the 15th time out of 18 home games the ceiling of 70,000 spectators will be broken (the average is over 72,000 spectators).
The only exceptions to the run of having over 70k fans present are the Champions League home game against Dinamo Zagreb (61,000 spectators because of regulations), the game against Torino in the Coppa Italian (58,000) and the match against the Granata in the league (68,000).
The high average home attendances this season may also have a large bearing on the plans for a new stadium and the capacity that it will have, given the previous plans for a stadium with Inter were at first less than 70k.
