Intense schedule awaits in April for already ‘stressed’ San Siro pitch

There have already been warnings about the condition of the San Siro pitch. However, things could become even worse as Milan and Inter will play a combined eight games on the pitch in April.

Given the tight schedule this season, with several mid-week clashes due to the World Cup break, the San Siro pitch hasn’t been great lately. In an article a few weeks back, Gazzetta Dello Sport described the pitch as ‘stressed’.

The upcoming international break will obviously give the pitch some much-needed rest. There were talks of a complete relay but it doesn’t look like it will happen. In any case, the pitch must recover ahead of what will be an intense period.

In April, Milan and Inter will play a combined eight games and the pitch will probably not look so great at the end of that. Hopefully, though, it won’t be so bad that the clubs have to do an emergency relay of the pitch (like last season).
