In an interview, Ardon Jashari has opened up about the hectic summer that eventually led him to AC Milan, also praising Massimiliano Allegri for his help.

Jashari’s move to the Rossoneri definitely became a mercato saga, as Club Brugge remained firm in the negotiations and thus made things difficult. In the end, however, the parties reached an agreement and the midfielder was able to put on the red and black shirt.
Sadly, an injury early on ruined his momentum quite a lot, but glimpses of his quality have been shown in the last few months. The hope, as such, is that next season could be the real leap in quality for the €35m+ midfielder.

Speaking to Il Foglio, as transcribed by MilanNews, the Swiss international opened up about the summer negotiations. He also shared a few words on Allegri, who has been giving him a lot of support this season.
On the Milan negotiations…
“I remember that period well. I had finished the season with Club Brugge by winning the Belgian Cup, and I was one of the strongest players in the squad. The club absolutely did not want to sell me, their position towards me was clear.
“I spoke to my agent every day, knowing of Milan’s strong interest. I was on holiday in Ibiza with my girlfriend and I was relaxing when my mobile phone rang. The number was Italian. I answered immediately, it was Igli Tare.
“I immediately understood that Milan would do everything to convince me and this thing excited me a lot. On the other hand, I had enormous respect for Club Brugge. I just wanted to find the best solution for both of us. Of course, how can you turn down such an important club as Milan?
“What accelerated my arrival? The work of the entire management, about ten days after the director’s call, Zlatan Ibrahimovic also arrived. He talked about the project. I was excited on the phone, my voice was almost shaking, but I was motivated and ready inside to start a new challenge.”
On his relationship with Allegri…
He’s a mentor to me, and I try to learn a lot. He has a lot of experience. He talks to me often, telling me to get more involved, to play with intensity, and to even shoot when we have the chance.
“He pushes me to improve in training, too, especially because my position on the pitch has changed a lot over the last few years.”
On his goals with Milan…
“I’m here to win. For myself, for the team, for the fans. I want to give my all every day, with enthusiasm and professionalism. I hope to wear this jersey for many more years.
“Now, however, we have to think game by game. Our goal is to return to the Champions League among the top teams in Europe. We know we have to work hard, but that doesn’t scare us.”
