Journalist expects Giroud to leave Milan next summer amid MLS interest

Olivier Giroud has started the season well with four goals and two assists in the first five games. It could be his last with AC Milan, though, as he has attracted interest from MLS clubs.

The Frenchman will turn 37 in eight days and even though he has had some injury concerns, his impressive physique must be praised. This season, for example, he has played every single game from start so far.

According to the credible journalist Jonathan Johnson in his column on the CaughtOffside/Fabrizio Romano Substack, Giroud has attracted the interest of MLS and this could very well be his last season with Milan.

The striker’s contract will expire at the end of the season and Milan are still expected to sign a new No.9 for the future. As the journalist concludes, it’s likely that Giroud will accept a lucrative move to the States next summer in spite of his success at the start of this campaign.
