GdS: Keeping Kessie would require a €90m commitment from Milan – the breakdown

AC Milan would have to make a huge financial commitment in order to keep Franck Kessie and extend his deal, a report has claimed.

Kessie’s future continues to dominate the media headlines, with many fans and pundits asking over the past few months why Milan have not met his demands and whether it would be possible to find a replacement as good as him on the market for the same price as renewing his deal.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Kessie’s future is almost certain to be away from Milan despite the fact that they have tabled an offer worth €6m net per season, because the management do not intend to meet the player’s demands of €8m per year.

To keep the Ivorian would require about €90m, because the €8m per year that he wants over five years – therefore €16m gross per season (before tax) – would total €80m, and a commission for his agent would need to be added.
