The Curva Sud decided to send a clear message to Franck Kessie during yesterday’s 1-0 win for AC Milan against Sampdoria.
MilanNews writes how at the beginning of the second half, a banner appeared reading: “Those who love Milan prove it with facts. Kind regards to the dissatisfied.” Chants were then directed at Theo Hernandez and Sandro Tonali as an appreciation of the the renewal of the Frenchman and the reduction of Tonali’s salary to permanently join Milan.
That banner from the Curva Sud is intended as a warning and a clear stance that the club come above everything and everyone. Kessie was whistled by a good part of the San Siro crowd both when he the team news was read and when he entered the field.
However, the report goes on to mention that the course of action has been decisive because there is also the argument that as long as they are Milan players, they must be supported because there are goals that must be achieved.
Afterwards – as happened with Donnarumma and Calhanoglu – there will be time to voice displeasure, but for now any protesting could potentially come with the risk of destabilising the environment.
