Krunic full of fire after suffering defeat against Napoli: “It burns us a lot” – video

AC Milan midfielder Rade Krunic has conceded that it ‘burns’ to lose to Napoli in front of a near sell-out crowd at San Siro and have their unbeaten run ended.

Luciani Spalletti’s side were the ones celebrating at the end of a fascianting spectacle, with goals from Matteo Politano (penalty) and Giovanni Simeone enough to ensure that Olivier Giroud’s equaliser was in vain.

Krunic was interviewed by Milan TV after the game and he admitted that it is painful to lose in front of home fans at San Siro, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

Is there any regret? “We cannot be happy only for the performance, we are certainly disappointed with the result. They won at our home, in front of our fans and it burns us a lot. The performance gives us confidence to keep working and improving game after game.”

The record of 22 consecutive games without defeat was broken: “It certainly burns but it is a very positive figure, it gave us more strength. We hope to return to winning as early as the next one to set a new record.”

On replacing Leao: “I am always proud to play for Milan and for this wonderful team. One thing is certain, that I always do my best. It is not the same thing if I play or Leao plays, we are very different players. With him it is certainly easier, but even today we have shown that our strength is precisely the group. We did not win but we can be happy with the performance made.”

“We can’t wait for the break to end to go play in Empoli and try to win that.”
