AC Milan are going through a fine period on the field, as Stefano Pioli’s team has gone unbeaten in Serie A since the league resumed after the lockdown. However, financially speaking it is more problematic, as the club announced losses of 195 million euros due to the pandemic.
The enormous losses are a result of the absence of box office revenues as well as the limited income from tv rights given the suspension of Serie A and the complete absence of football in Italy until May.
For this reason, Milan’s future transfer markets could also be affected, with the Elliott ownership looking to cut costs as much as possible in order to get the balance sheet of the club in a healthy shape.
According to La Stampa (via milannews.it), after the above-mentioned losses were confirmed, some representative players of the team, such as Hakan Calhanoglu, are now at risk of being sold during the January transfer market.
