Although the season is far from over, with Milan currently in a crucial phase in the top-four race, plans are already being made for next season. With the summer window just three months away, they need to be prepared.
The Rossoneri have many players on loan at the club, such as Brahim Diaz, Diogo Dalot and Fikayo Tomori. The latter has impressed a lot since his arrival in January and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him at the club beyond this season.
There is a €28m buy-out clause included in the deal, as highlighted by MilanLive, and Milan might have to make a few sales to keep the Englishman. The lawyer Emiliano Nitti, speaking on Top Calcio 24, has suggested a solution to the problem.
“Considering the interest of Juventus, the best thing to do would be to sell Romagnoli to Bianconeri to get cash and then use that money to sign Tomori from Chelsea,” he said as cited by MilanLive.
Of course, selling the captain remains unlikely but as Mino Raiola is his agent, it might get difficult to renew his contract which will expire in 2022. The hypothesis thus isn’t crazy in any sense of the words, but certainly unlikely still.
