CBS Sports: Leao and Ronaldo subject of transfer tug-of-war involving Chelsea and Man Utd

Chelsea have not given up on signing Rafael Leao from AC Milan and they are prioritising the winger over Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of January, a report claims.

According to CBS Sports, Chelsea are being linked with a move for Ronaldo who is unhappy with his situation at Manchester United but Graham Potter would rather the club try to sign Leao instead,

However, United have their own interest in the Portuguese winger and that makes things complicated. Potter does want another forward but he has other options in mind above Ronaldo in the pecking order and one of those is Leao, even though Todd Boehly is a big fan of the 37-year-old.

United are also monitoring Leao’s situation as they look at potentially replacing Ronaldo which means an ‘awkward transfer triangle’ has emerged. If Leao were to leave in the direction of Manchester, then Chelsea ‘may be forced to turn their attention to back to Ronaldo’.

However, CBS Sports also claim that Chelsea will not commit to signing Ronaldo without ‘100% buy-in’ from Potter.
