CM: Raised request and possible Man City bid – road to Leao’s renewal becomes uphill

After all the reports of confidence, the AC Milan management all of a sudden have work to do in order to keep Rafael Leao at the club.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, the request for compensation made by Sporting CP in the legal dispute with Lille worries the Portuguese winger and prompted him – through his entourage – to ask for a higher salary than Milan’s most recent offer of €4.5m net per season plus bonuses.

His agent Jorge Mendes has warned directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara that an offer from an English club for Leao should arrive, and Manchester City could be the team in question given they have been linked.

Milan have not put the former Lille man on the market but could listen to offers of €70m and above, while Investcorp will have a crucial role in the negotiation because once they buy the club they will have to decide whether to accept the demands of Leao and Mendes or start listening to the bids.
