CM: Liverpool and Milan not in talks over Bennacer – the player has other ideas

There are no active negotiations between AC Milan and Liverpool over Ismael Bennacer despite earlier rumours, according to a journalist.

Hafid Derradji of BeINSports reported on alquds.co.uk earlier today that Manchester City, Liverpool and his former team Arsenal are all circling for the Algerian international, hoping to take advantage in the event a renewal agreement is not reached.

Milan do not want to sell Bennacer but his contract – which runs until 2024 – has a release clause of €50m. As per Derradji, the management wish to raise that to €100m by raising the player’s annual salary to three times what it is today in exchange for renewing his deal until 2027.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com however, Milan and Liverpool are not in talks over Bennacer. The midfielder is focused on the new season ahead with the Rossoneri and is actually waiting for his agent to find an agreement for the renewal of his contract with directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.
