Report: Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City keen on Milan midfielder with €50m clause

By Oliver Fisher -

Three Premier League clubs are interested in signing Ismael Bennacer from AC Milan with Liverpool among them, according to a report.

Hafid Derradji of BeINSports has published an article on alquds.co.uk claiming that there is concrete interest in Bennacer, but Milan boss Stefano Pioli is not at all willing to give up one of his key players especially after already losing Franck Kessie.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is still seeking to strengthen his midfield with a new addition with Bennacer, Adrian Rabiot of Juventus and Hakan Calhanoglu of Inter on the list of players that he would approve.

Milan do not want to sell Bennacer but his contract – which runs until 2024 – has a release clause of €50m. The management wish to raise that to €100m by raising the player’s annual salary to three times what it is today in exchange for renewing his deal until 2027.

The report adds that Manchester City, Liverpool and his former team Arsenal are all circling for the Algerian international, hoping to take advantage in the event a renewal agreement is not reached.

  1. This is the last summer to make any money from his sale, otherwise he’s going on a free. I don’t think they’d pay 50m for him, so might be worth just keeping him on his lower salary for a couple of years anyway, if there’s no obvious replacement lined up.

      1. “Player wont be happy if you keep them lower salary for 2 years.”

Well… Say that to Leao who refuses to sign the new contract while enjoying his 1.5M€ salary instead of the 5.5M€ offered.

    1. It’s not that easy to sell and just replace players lol. You scream just sell Bennacer and Leao etc…like they are pieces of candy at the store and you can just easily replace them with another on the shelf and it will be exactly the same quality. If they don’t renew they will be sold but hard to find replacement this late in summer window. You would sell Bennacer now when we don’t have a replacement AND we are down Kessie??? Your crazy bro. Had we signed Aanches I can understand the argument better assuming Bennacer said he won’t renew. But that isn’t the case. This isn’t FIFA PlayStation where u can just swap players in and out as you please

      1. This is a story fabricated by his agent so he can force Milan to raise their salary offer for Bennacer. Arsenal had a chance to sign Bennacer from Empoli 3 years ago and they couldn’t care less but now they want him. Has he improved that much being a rotation player for Milan?
And it’s only hard to find players in the market when you don’t have the money. If he is sold for 50 mil(unrealistic) Milan can replace both him and Kessie with those money

  2. Hmmm….wonder why M&M wanted Sanches…could it be in case they had to sell Benny (if he refuses to resign) as a potential replacement this year or next and net an approx 35M profit?? 🧐 Just a thought loll. But ya you know those news stories about Sanches were all made up right @Yelnats24 and @Medhi???? Ha!
