CM: Liverpool man to be first of 4-5 Milan signings – €16m deal after Maldini promise

AC Milan should soon complete the signing of Divock Origi on a free transfer when his contract at Liverpool expires, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Belgian striker has rejected some clubs in the Bundesliga and in the Premier League – including the cash-rich Newcastle United – because he gave his word to Paolo Maldini that he would join Milan’s project.

Stefano Pioli will be able to welcome a versatile forward who is able to operate either as a centre-forward or even as a winger if needed, and he will bolster an attacking department that has not always been the most consistent this season.

Negotiations between Origi and Milan began back in March and are now set to conclude in a positive way, as the 27-year-old will sign a four-year contract worth around €4m net per season plus bonuses.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara continue to work on the market with the desire to make the squad even better, with Origi expected to be the first of four or five new signings.
