Longo: Pioli’s future undecided as Cardinale keeps Conte and Motta in the loop

AC Milan have been in very good form as of late, with six consecutive wins in all competitions, and yesterday’s performance against Fiorentina was further proof of their growth. However, Stefano Pioli’s future remains undecided, a report claims.

Pioli made it clear after the game that he loves being the manager of the club, while the president Paolo Scaroni also spoke highly of the 58-year-old prior to the clash. Of course, this has got some of the Milan fans thinking about the future.

As reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, the truth is that Pioli’s future will be decided at the end of the season and not now. Therefore, Gerry Cardinale is also keeping the likes of Antonio Conte and Thiago Motta in the loop, as they are the two most likely candidates.

At the end of the season, Cardinale will sit down with the management and evaluate the season, with everything from the results to injury struggles taken into consideration. Only then will a decision be made, and we know that the American isn’t afraid of making the tough one.

The sacking of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara came out of nowhere for most, although we were the first to report about the nature of the meeting on our Substack.
