Franck Kessie’s situation at AC Milan is becoming increasingly unsustainable. In addition to the contractual uncertainty, as it will expire in the summer, the midfielder has failed to live up to the expectations on the pitch.
As highlighted by Andrea Longoni in his latest piece for MilanNews, the problem isn’t just the contract and that Kessie isn’t as phenomenal as last season. In fact, the main issue is that Milan are forced to clean up after him, the red card against Atletico being the perfect example.
One wonders, as Longoni continues, what today’s phenomenal team would be with last season’s phenomenal Kessie as well. We are only at the beginning, though, and the Ivorian can still regain his form and perform well.
However, the feeling is that this will be very complicated if he doesn’t sign the renewal with Milan. The fans are increasingly upset with the delay and it will continue to be in the spotlight until it’s settled.
