Longoni: Origi has ‘no excuses’ as Milan demand return on their investment

Divock Origi arrived on a free transfer in the summer but has struggled to impose himself at AC Milan due to a couple of injuries. Having recovered fully now, the Belgian has no excuses for the second half of the season.

The Belgian striker has a decent salary, given that he arrived on a free transfer, and Milan thus expect a certain contribution from him on the pitch. So far, he has gound the back of the net just one time and that simply isn’t enough.

As highlighted by Andrea Longoni in his latest column for MilanNews, Origi has ‘no excuses’ for the second half of the season after recovering from his injuries. He’s a very experienced player and more pressure on him is warranted, compared to the young arrivals (such as De Ketelaere).

It’s clear that Origi’s performances in the second half could affect Milan’s transfer strategy in the summer. Should he do well, then perhaps the Rossoneri don’t need to sign as many players for the attack.
