Maldini set to join Empoli on loan as confirmation arrives from Milan

Daniel Maldini will be present at Milanello tomorrow for the first training session of the pre-season. However, the midfielder will not stay for long as a move to Empoli is on the cards.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Spezia but he struggled to get consistent playing time, registering just 646 minutes on the pitch. He did, however, manage to find the back of the net three times.

In short, he will not stay with Milan’s first team for next season but will be loaned out to Empoli instead. The Tuscan side will have a buy-out clause but there will also be a buy-back in the Rossoneri’s favour.

Maldini’s move was more or less confirmed by Milan earlier today when they sent out the squad list for tomorrow’s Raduno, stating that the final details of the transfer to Empoli are being defined. It’s just a matter of time, in other words.
