According to SportMediaset (via PianetaMilan), the Rossoneri management have begun informal talks over Alvaro Morata of Atletico Madrid, who could leave the club this summer despite rumours of a renewal being close.
Morata knows Serie A well having played for Juventus in two separate two-year periods (2014-2016 and 2020-2022), so he could welcome a return to Italy and he is a profile that wouldn’t take much adaptation.
The renewal of his contract would also allow Milan to take advantage of a loan formula, perhaps with an option or obligation to linked to appearances and/or results, to close the deal with Los Colchoneros.
The 30-year-old scored 13 goals in LaLiga last season and 15 across all competitions with three assists in 45 total appearances, but does not seem to be a big part of Diego Simeone’s plans.
