CM.it: Milan monitoring €75m Barcelona midfielder’s situation but Man Utd lead race

Frenkie de Jong is no longer central to Barcelona’s project and AC Milan are one of the clubs monitoring his situation, a report claims.

Calciomercato.it report that the Dutchman has never been seen as a crucial member of the starting XI by Xavi and that is why a sale is possible in the summer especially with Barcelona’s need to raise cash to fund other signings.

A €75m asking price has been set for the former Ajax star who is attracting the interest of Juventus but now also Milan, who under the new ownership of Investcorp may not be ‘frightened’ by the requests, which are always negotiable.

However, Bayern Munich and Manchester United appear to be the most credible destinations for De Jong especially with Erik Ten Hag – his coach at Ajax – joining the Red Devils in the summer and with United in need of signings for the midfield department.
