Di Marzio: Why both of Castillejo’s potential January exits collapsed

Samu Castillejo twice had the chance to seal a move from AC Milan but both times it broke down for various reasons, according to reports.

According to what Gianluca Di Marzio reported live on Sky Italia (via MilanNews) last night, Castillejo knew that the Rossoneri were in talks with Valencia and the 27-year-old had accepted the idea of a move to join them.

The talks lasted for a few days but in the end Milan did not manage to find an agreement with the Spanish club, and they instead decided to sign Bryan Gil on loan from Spurs until the end of the current campaign.

On deadline day however, the situation was reversed. The Rossoneri easily found an agreement in a short time with Sampdoria over a dry loan until June, but the player refused the destination because he preferred a transfer to Spain, so his exit is postponed until the summer.
