MN: Milan’s centre-back search complicated as no targets fully convince – the latest

AC Milan’s number one target for the January transfer window is to recruit a new central defender due to the long injury suffered by Simon Kjaer, but there will be no rush.

MilanNews reports that in January it is hard to make big signings because teams do not want to lose their key players mid-season and that is why Milan are not rushing. They want to give Pioli the right type of profile, namely one that is strong, aggressive, good with the ball at his feet and in 1v1 situations.

Sven Botman was the main target but Lille do not want to sell the Dutchman in the current transfer market, and to do so they are asking for a figure that Milan cannot afford. Manchester City do not want to let Nathan Ake go while Abdou Diallo of PSG, Attila Szalai of Fenerbahce, Eric Bailly of Manchester United and Malang Sarr of Chelsea are all other profiles that the club are evaluating.

However, for one reason or another none of them jump out and while Bremer is very popular he is more of a name for the summer. In short, there is no favourite target at the moment and the search goes on.
