GdS: Milan one of many teams chasing young Flamengo midfielder

AC Milan are of many teams that are considering a move for Flamengo midfielder Joao Gomes who could be affordable, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today (via Pianeta Milan), Milan are taking a very close look at the player who comes from the same team that the Rossoneri signed Luca Paqueta and Leo Duarte from.

It is believed that he could be available for a fee that is within the budget that technical director Paolo Maldini and sporting director Frederic Massara have got available to sign a new midfielder and add more depth.

The 21-year-old has already played 99 first team games for his Brazilian side and he has scored three times.

There is going to be much more focus on signing a midfielder now that Malick Thiaw is being signed from Schalke to bring depth to the defence. Big teams such as Real Madrid, Manchester United and Lyon are also interested in Joao Gomes.
