Reports: Milan edge closer towards Kessie’s renewal after meeting with agent – the latest

Various reports have emerged suggesting Franck Kessie is close to renewing his contract at AC Milan after a meeting with his agent today.

Calciomercato.com are reporting that George Atangana, Kessié’s agent, met in Bologna with sporting director Ricky Massara. First they had a lunch, then a coffee in Galleria Cavour, where the discussions began.

The dialogues are open, no agreement has yet been found, but the Rossoneri are ready to make an effort. Kessié is important for Pioli and represents an asset for owners Elliott Management, but there is a calm atmosphere between the parties and a new meeting could happen in the coming days.

According to the latest from Fabrizio Romano on Twitch (via TransferZone), things are a bit further ahead as he reports Kessie is staying at Milan. The player and his agent are ready to accept the Rossoneri’s new contract offer that was put forward in today’s meeting.

Finally, La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that it was obviously not a decisive meeting, but it was another step towards happy ending. The difference between supply and demand will have to be bridged but Milan have got close to the €6m net per season demands.
