Igli Tare is getting his feet under the desk at Casa Milan, and his first interview with Milan TV aired on Wednesday. He spoke about supporting the club as a child and vision to get Milan back to the top, for which a top coach is needed.
Milan are trying to hop on the managerial merry-go-round at the right moment, with several major sources claiming that Vincenzo Italiano will renew with Bologna causing them to turn to Massimiliano Allegri.
Matteo Moretto’s latest update
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the well-known journalist Matteo Moretto gave an update on Milan’s pursuit of a coach and he threw Antonio Conte’s name into the mix.
“The situation is not yet clear. But I’ll try to give you some information, even though it is an absolutely evolving story. Tare is working to close everything within 7-8 days,” he said (via MilanNews).
“The profile that is most liked is that of Massimiliano Allegri: they are looking for a centraliser, capable of managing certain players well even on a human level, an Italian coach who knows what it means to win. Allegri is first on the list.
“But Milan moved late anyway, or later than the competitors, because Napoli already has a verbal agreement with Allegri in the event that Conte were to leave Napoli. But on this last point there are no certainties.
“After Allegri, there are other plans for Milan. Vincenzo Italiano, who will remain at Bologna, is not on this list. Milan, in addition to having called Allegri, also called Antonio Conte. Very very difficult path. But Milan is looking for a centraliser and one who knows what it means to win.”
