As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) are reporting this morning, Milan have already defined the strategies for the future of its youth academy and second team, confirming the present managerial leadership despite the rumours that circulated in recent weeks.
While awaiting formalisation of the application for readmission of Milan Futuro to Serie C – a scenario considered possible in the absence of new requests from other Serie A clubs – the Rossoneri have decided to renew their trust in technical director Jovan Kirovski.
The American executive, initially chosen by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, will continue to serve as the key figure for the U23 side, despite a stint in Italy marked by mixed results so far. Within the club, however, the regard for him remains high, particularly for his scouting abilities.
In parallel, Milan has extended Vincenzo Vergine’s contract until 2028. He is the head of the Youth Sector and will be rewarded for the work carried out and the significant number of young players guided toward senior football under his management, having arrived with a top reputation.
The agreement with the former Fiorentina and Roma executive puts an end to recent rumours about possible changes and definitively rules out the hypothesis of a return for Mauro Bianchessi, thus confirming the continuity of the youth vision.
Changes higher up
As a reminder, there may well be some changes to the management of the first team, as Matteo Moretto revealed during a video update on his YouTube channel earlier in the week.
“Whether it’s the Champions League or not, Cardinale will evaluate between now and the end of the season to determine how and whether to improve the Rossoneri organisation: I’m speaking from both a sporting and a corporate perspective.
“We need to understand how the season will end, but there will certainly be a face-to-face meeting with Cardinale in charge. RedBird will decide which path to take. We’ll update you if there are any changes or improvements.”
