AC Milan tasted defeat for the first time since January in the league as they were beaten 2-1 by Napoli at San Siro last night, and the defence once again failed to hold up.

Calciomercato.com report that Milan were beaten at San Siro against an opponent in Napoli who have all the credentials to aim for the Scudetto, with Luciano Spalletti’s side taking full advantage of the fact that the Rossoneri’s rearguard is not as strong as it was.
With eight goals conceded in seven games, the feeling is that Milan are letting in too many goals compared to the end of last season when they conceded just two in the final 11 matches.
Fikayo Tomori’s performance in particular has been highlighted as he was guilty of being inattentive for the third time in the last five games. The first was in the derby when Edin Dzeko scored, then Orsic was given freedom to pull one back for Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, and then Giovanni Simeone was left alone inside the box to net Napoli’s winner.
Tomori must regain the concentration that had characterised him in his first 18 months with the Rossoneri, because he can be perfect for the other 89 minutes as he was last night against Napoli, but one lapse can be enough.
Individual errors are likely to weigh twice as much in such a big game, though of course it goes without saying that the Englishman has the whole club on his side as well as the qualities to redeem himself immediately from the next match at Empoli after the break.
