Journalist believes Milan face decision regarding winger they ‘cannot rely on’

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara could soon be forced to make a decision on the future of Junior Messias as he is not offering the right guarantees at the moment, a journalist has claimed.

Messias was not able to partake in either of the friendlies against Arsenal and Liverpool in the Dubai Super Cup last week, leading to questions about his physical condition and why he has had another period of absence.

Franco Ordine has written in his latest column for MilanNews that Messias has ‘gone off the radar’ but ‘keeps going in and out of the infirmary’ which means that Stefano Pioli ‘cannot rely on him’.

This is where the directors might soon need to make a call on Messias and what he can offer moving forward, given that he is in his 30s now and has amassed just 15 appearances this season.

If the Brazilian were deemed surplus to requirements it could well lead to a ‘radical change’ ahead of next season.
