Goal: Milan ask about preferential lane for striker but Fiorentina respond with €80m demand

AC Milan have asked about the signing of striker Arthur Cabral from Fiorentina but it will be a very difficult operation, a report claims.

According to Goal Brasil, Milan spoke with Fiorentina in recent days as they have an interest in signing Cabral. The Rossoneri are aware that it would be difficult to sign the Brazilian in the summer given he only arrived in January 2022 to replace Dusan Vlahovic.

The idea, however, was to have priority in purchasing the striker in the future. The request made by Milan was refused by Fiorentina though, as La Viola have made it known that the 24-year-old Brazilian will only join an Italian rival if they pay his €80m release clause.

Milan are not willing to pay that amount to acquire Cabral – who has two Serie A goals since joining from Basel – but continue to monitor him in view of the future. The player’s entourage are also aware of the interest coming from such a prestigious club.

It is possible that Milan will make an offer in the European winter transfer window in January 2023 but the situation is not yet concrete and is under evolution. Cabral was signed for €14m and signed a contract until June 2026.
