AC Milan have made the first contact with the agents of Olivier Giroud to try and agree on a new contract, a report claims.
As has been reported by Antonio Vitiello of Milan News on Twitter, Milan are convinced enough of the quality that Giroud brings to the team that they already want to extend his contract.
The 35-year-old striker still has a year left to run on his current deal but Milan must feel that they can get use out of the Frenchman beyond the end of next season.
It could be that they want to armour him with a new deal so that should they want to sell him next summer, they could receive a fee. Any fee would be minimal though given his age.
He joined the Rossoneri in July 2021 from Chelsea for just over €1 million. His market value currently stands at £3.15 million according to the website Transfermarkt.
