AC Milan and Inter are both set to benefit financially from the exclusion of Russian teams from European competitions in view of next season.

It was announced by UEFA that after the Putin regime’s invasion of Ukraine, Russian teams will not be able to participate in the Champions League, in the Europa League and in the Conference League from 2022-23 onwards until a resolution is found.
As reported by calcioefinanza.it (via PianetaMilan), the team excluded from the Champions League will be Zenit St. Petersburg as they have already wrapped up first in the league. Their place will soon be the winner of the Scottish Premier League, which is likely to be Celtic.
Due to the fact Milan and Inter are lower in the UEFA Ranking compared to Zenit (the Russian cub are in 24th place, while the Nerazzurri are 26th and the Rossoneri are 27th), they will earn more money from the ten-year ranking pot. Inter will now collect about €13.6m, while Milan will get €12.5m, meaning an extra million each.
