CM: Milan could invest in a forward in January amid injury crisis – the identikit

AC Milan’s injury emergency could force Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to bring forward the investment they were planning in a new forward, a report claims.

Olivier Giroud will be forced to work overtime in the two crucial upcoming fixtures against Dinamo Zagreb and Napoli in the Champions League and Serie A respectively, as the prolonged absences of Divock Origi and Ante Rebic plus the disqualification of Rafael Leao on Sunday means there are very few options.

Calciomercato.com report that Milan are currently using conservative therapy to avoid a hernia operation for Rebic, but Origi on the other hand will fly to Belgium to see his national team doctors to try to cure a tendon problem.

Massara and Maldini will thus be forced to try and bring forward by six months the investment they were planning on a new attacking player. The identikit is as follows: an under 25 player who knows how to play both as a centre-forward but also as a winger if needed too.
