GdS: Milan make €40m-rated Sweden international the No.1 target to replace Ibrahimovic

AC Milan must soon resolve the situation surrounding the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and they have an eye on his compatriot as a potential replacement, a report claims.

As reported today by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), Ibrahimovic is at a crossroads and by the end of the season he must decide whether to negotiate a renewal with Milan and stay for another year – but not as a first choice – or he will say goodbye and end his second stint at the club, possibly retiring too.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara cannot stand by and watch, waiting for his decision, so the Rossoneri are already considering options to replace Ibrahimovic in case he does go. The first name on the list is Ibra’s countryman Alexander Isak who plays for Real Sociedad and has already shown a lot of promise.

He scored 17 league goals in 34 appearances last season but only has four goals so far this year, which is why his asking price is set at around €40m rather than being much higher. The 22-year-old is tall but has a lot of pace and good technique, which makes him the number one target.
