GdS: Milan leap ahead of Inter in race for €40m striker as discussions continue

AC Milan consider a centre-forward to be among their most important upcoming purchases and they have a target in mind, a report claims.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Milan management are in the market for a new striker given that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract expires and even if he renews he will turn 41, while Olivier Giroud will turn 36 this year and Marko Lazetic is just 18 without a single minute of action.

The name of Scamacca is gathering steam in that respect, and while the 23-year-old is wanted by Inter they are struggling to close the deal because they are aiming to get a loan with option to buy, something Sassuolo are not convinced by.

From this point of view, the Rossoneri have many more arrows in their bow because their financial situation gives them the capacity to spend. The dialogue is continuing between the parties but there must be assessments made because the Neroverdi want over €40m to sell.
