Milan-linked defender labels Hernandez as his role model

AC Milan-linked defender Fabiano Parisi has said that current Milan defender Theo Hernandez is his role model.

Speaking during an interview with DAZN (via Milan News) after Empoli’s match against Lecce on Sunday, Parisi was asked about his style of play and what is going through his mind.

He won a penalty during the 1-0 victory for the Azzurri and he described his desire to get forward with the ball which led to him being fouled in the box ahead of the goal.

“I saw space, then thanks to my dribbling I won the penalty. When I see space I lower my head and aim for the goal,” Parisi said.

He was then asked who his role model is and interestingly, the Italian picked out Milan’s French left-back Theo Hernandez.

“My role model? Theo Hernandez, I try to improve myself and give my best always.”

There have been recent transfer rumours linking Hernandez with a move to the Premier League as Arsenal and others are thought to be interested.

Another report claimed that the two players Milan have in mind as possible replacements are Alejandro Grimaldo from Benfica and Parisi, who has impressed for Empoli for some time.
