GdS: Milan expected to beat Man Utd and Arsenal to €38m deal for midfielder

AC Milan have made Renato Sanches their number one target to reinforce the midfield department and they are closing in on signing him, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) reports that Renato Sanches is seen as the ideal profile to come in and replace Franck Kessie – who should depart on a free transfer – because he combines the physicality of the Ivorian with the technical ability needed to play Stefano Pioli’s style.

The parties are moving towards a four-year contract at €4.5m net per season (therefore €18m in total) and in the next few days a meeting is expected between the Rossoneri management and the agent of Sanches – Jorge Mendes – to get an agreement thrashed out.

There is competition to land the former Bayern Munich man, such as that of Manchester United, Arsenal, Lyon, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, but the Rossoneri are the choice of the player and he is pushing to complete the move.

There is even an agreement between Milan and Lille on the basis of a €20m transfer fee that was established back in January but it could be that even further discounts emerge.
