As Corriere della Sera (via MilanPress) report this morning, the winter transfer window is approaching and Milan’s management have long been thinking about possible moves to strengthen a squad which remains incomplete.
However, at present it is too early to understand if there will be investments made in January. The roles circled in red are as follows: a deputy to Youssouf Fofana and a back-up for Theo Hernandez, so a defensive midfielder and a left-back.
Despite the pre-identified holes, technical director Geoffrey Moncada would prefer to wait for Ismael Bennacer’s recovery to understand if it is a real necessity. Fofana is tired and needs to catch his breath and the Algerian is very close to returning.
On the left, Alex Jimenez’s convincing performance against Genoa has put the idea of making a new addition on hold. The matter will be discussed again after the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia, writes the newspaper.
Head coach Paulo Fonseca was asked whether he thinks January additions are needed in his press conference after the 0-0 draw with Genoa.
“It’s not time to think about January. We have to think about working. At the right time we’ll think about what we can do to improve the team,” he said.
