Report: Milan have made an opening bid for Racing Club midfielder

AC Milan have made an opening bid for Argentinian midfielder Carlos Alvarez who plays for Racing Club, a report claims.

As has been reported in Argentina by Racing de Alma, the Rossoneri made a bid of €12 million for the 19-year-old attacking midfielder but that was rejected by Racing.

It is thought that the Argentinian side would like a deal starting at €18 million but the clubs are at least now in negotiations.

Alvarez recently signed a new contract with Racing that is supposed to keep him at the club until December 2026. It included a release clause of €25 million but it is accepted that players are rarely sold for their release clauses. It is a way to protect value.

The interest from Milan suggests that they are getting ready for the idea that they will not get their primary attacking midfield targets who appear to be Charles De Ketelaere and Hakim Ziyech.
