AC Milan held up their side of the bargain by beating Newcastle United away from home last night, bu it wasn’t enough to seal progression to the Champions League knockout stages.
Milan went into the game at St. James’ Park knowing that they needed to win and hope for a favour from Borussia Dortmund who in turn had to beat Paris Saint-Germain. While the Bundesliga side led, they ultimately had to settle for a draw and thus the Rossoneri finished third.
