Milan president Scaroni makes club’s stance clear on resumption of Serie A season

AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni has insisted that the club are ready and willing to resume the Serie A season under the right conditions.

Although football has somewhat drifted into the background amid the ongoing Coronavirus emergency, plans are urgently being concocted to try and get the domestic season back underway once everything is safe.

A number of different hypothesis have been proposed including a start in May with the Coppa Italia semi-final second legs first up, games behind closed doors and even all fixtures to be played in areas not deemed red zones – such as Rome.

The president of Milan, Paolo Scaroni, has made it clear that Milan are willing to get the current campaign back underway on the premise that everyone’s safety and health is guaranteed.

“The resumption of the football season is decided by the developments of the pandemic and, according to this, by the authorities,” he told ANSA (via Calciomercato.com).

“Milan is a football club whose primary vocation is to play football. If there are conditions of safety and health, we are in favour of the resumption of the sporting season.”
