Milan Primavera 1-4 Fiorentina: Jimenez sent off as Rossoneri surrender early lead

AC Milan Primavera were beaten 4-1 at home by Fiorentina with Alex Jimenez getting sent off thanks to two yellow cards.

The game started superbly for the Rossoneri as they took a 1-0 lead after just nine minutes of play. It was all thanks to the incredible work of forward Diego Sia, who set off from deep inside his own half and ran with the ball through multiple challenges until he made it into the Fiorentina box.

He then kept his composure to produce a fine finish into the bottom corner, and Milan were in front.

The novelty element of the game is that both Mattia Caldara and Gaetano Castrovilli were on the pitch for Milan and Fiorentina respectively, as they both continue to recover from long-term injuries.

Both teams were applying plenty of pressure in the first half but Milan still had their slender lead at the break.

That did not last long though, as Fallou Sene equalised for Fiorentina just two minutes into the second-half.

Francesco Camarda missed a great chance to put Milan back in front but his shot went high over the crossbar and less than 10 minutes later, Fiorentina were 2-1 with Leonardo Baroncelli scoring. To make matters worse, Alex Jimenez picked up a second yellow card in the aftermath and Milan were down 10.

Milan never looked like getting an equaliser with 10 players and a late goal from Maat Daniel Caprini made it 3-1 to Fiorentina, before Sene made it 4-1 in the dying stages.

That leaves Milan Primavera in fifth, whilst Fiorentina climb to ninth.
