It seems AC Milan could get involved in a bidding war against Como for talented Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup.

The links to Portuguese talents are not ending and it seems that Milan are likely to use the league as a key area of recruitment. Of course, with Jorge Mendes’ involvement, it makes a lot of sense. However, it is placing a lot of trust in these players.

First and foremost, you are asking them to make a large step up to Serie A and acclimatise to a new league instantly, alongside others who are not used to playing in the Italian way, which can be very difficult.

However, with younger players too, you need to be more patient and the demands of Milanisti are sometimes not so forgiving.

Milan fighting competition

Earlier this month, it was reported that Schjelderup was a target for the Rossoneri and this remains the case, as A Bola reports, via MilanNews. However, they are not alone in their interest in the Norwegian winger.

Indeed, Como and Club Brugge have taken a look at him. Yet, it seems unlikely that he will move to Belgium after Rui Costa’s comments on his future. As a result of that, the €20 million bid placed by the Neroverdi is seen as not enough and at least €30m will be needed to sign him this summer…
