CM: Milan could sign a right-back with Florenzi facing a long absence – two options emerge

AC Milan may now go in search of a right-back given the injury sustained by Alessandro Florenzi in last night’s draw with Sassuolo, a report claims.

Florenzi could be set for an extended period on the sidelines as Stefano Pioli has admitted his muscle injury does not look good. The full-back was chasing a ball that landed over his shoulder and he instantly pulled up grimacing in pain, and it seems ‘fairly serious’ as per the Milan boss.

According to Calciomercato.com, Florenzi will undergo an instrumental examination to assess the severity of the left flexor problem but there is very much the risk that Pioli will be without the right-back for a long time.

Now the management are reflecting on whether or not to return to the market in search of a new right-back, and among the options evaluated are the names of Davide Zappacosta of Atalanta and Gabriele Zappa of Cagliari.

Other names are also being evaluated, while Fode Ballo-Toure will remain with the Rossoneri despite the interests of Galatasaray, OGC Nice and Fulham, with Pioli being decisive in that choice.
