AC Milan retain an interest in signing Porto striker Mehdi Taremi and his exploits at the World Cup so far stand have certainly not cooled it.

According to Calciomercato.it, Taremi was wanted by Milan last summer, but in the end things did not go beyond a simple first enquiry, due to the high asking price Porto set. However, his deal runs out in 2024 and the Lusitanian club are pushing to extend the agreement, but a deal has not yet been reached.
Therefore, a new attempt in January is not excluded by Milan, even if the Portuguese champions continue to ask for a figure of around €25m in order to sell him.
It feels as though nobody will match that asking price in January but in the summer things could change if the Iran international – who scored against England yesterday – has not yet agreed an extension.
A cut-price deal for the 30-year-old would become appealing to José Mourinho’s Roma could too, given they and the Rossoneri need some extra cover for the attack.
Taremi has six goals and five assists in 13 league games this season plus five in five in the Champions League. He got 32 goal contributions (20 goals, 12 assists) in as many league games last season, and 16 goals the season before that.
